Hey guys, gals,and everyone else!
I’ve started running…or at least incorporated it with my workouts. Shocking..I know. I’ve always been less than athletic, and so finally enjoying running is a big deal for me! So I thought I’d put together some fitness and beauty items I’ve been loving lately!
Can we just take a moment of silence for the fact that my iPhone doesn’t support Pokemon go? Luckily Alexander downloaded it and let’s me play it when we run outside or he’s driving somewhere! I caught a whopping 12 Pokemon on a trip to Subway last night 😉
Next up is this super awkward exercise! According to bodybuilding.com it’s called a barbell glute bridge. But essentially you’re going to hump the air. I’ve started doing a glute & calf day and then an all over leg day in my routine. This movement definitely kicks my butt…almost literally. I do it with a 45lbs dumbbell because that’s really all I got at my apartment gym! I just recommend not looking anyone in the eye while you do it. There are also a lot of variations if this is too hard or too easy for you!
Next up is a sweet treat! Arctic Zero icecream is an icecream that I heard about in high school and tried. I liked it then, but it definitely wasn’t my Hagen Daas Rocky Road by any means. BUT They came out with a new formula and flavors so I thought I would give them a whirl! I know a lot of people find these at health food stores, but *whispers* I always find mine at Walmart! Actually these are from Fry’s/Kroger’s so they are becoming more readily available.
The best part? Each pint has between250-400 calories. For the entire pint! To put this into perspective…my rocky road love has 290 for a half cup. Yikes! I will say these aren’t the same texture completely as regular ice cream. They are a bit thinner I guess, but they don’t freeze solid. These are dairy, GMO and coconut(that’s really only important to me) free! Yay! And they are sweetened with real cane sugar and monk fruit 🙂
Update: Alexander wasn’t too fond of the icecream by itself. BUT I started mixing 1/3-1/2 of a pint with water, ice, and protein powder. Then I blend it and it makes the most awesome protein shake ever 🙂 Plus he’s lactose intolerant so I don’t have to endure smelly farts after he drinks one ;p
That cat sticker is for Brenna…I just wanted to show you guys.
Next up is Nyx’s illuminator in “Ritualistic”. Now first off, I love the name! This is a pretty close dupe for Champagne Pop if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative. It is very warm, but with my complexion and hair, I love that! It also has a sort of spongey feeling to it when you touch it in the pan! Just trust me on that part…
Last in the beauty segment of my favorites is this beautiful palette! This is the Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bon Palette, and it’s awesome. I’d love to get my hands on the limited edition Sweet Peach version as well! This palette A. Smells like chocolate and B. Has awesome warm brown shades. I love using it to create a lazy cut crease (that’s what I call it just go with it!). The only con is that the bright pink shade isn’t as pigmented as I would like. But when I get sad about it I just take a whiff and I’m all better 😉
Andddddd last up is this song! I know I know it’s not beauty or fitness related but I thought I’d include it. It definitely makes me sing along in my truck. Plus it packs a powerful message! It’s Carrie Underwood’s “Church Bells”
